In 2023, a former client approached me with a new venture: the creation of a mobile app that would revolutionize the way people manage their tasks. This wasn't another to-do list app; it was designed with real people in mind, not just project managers. The goal was to craft an experience that was both functional and enjoyable, standing out from the crowd of existing tools like Asana or ClickUp. With the client serving as the product manager and a seasoned developer specializing in video game design on board, we had the perfect team to bring this vision to life.

From the outset, it was clear that this project would be a challenge. While we had a solid foundation of wireframes and features, defining the app's aesthetic proved to be a complex task. We experimented with various UI designs, striving to strike the delicate balance between elegance and functionality. The key was to create a visually appealing interface that also allowed for high levels of customization, such as the ability for users to personalize the color schemes of their task lists.

After months of exploration and refinement, we arrived at a minimalist design with subtle contrasts that could adapt to different environments. The unveiling of the Vision Pro by Apple provided further inspiration, allowing us to incorporate a sleek glass aesthetic that elevated the app's visual appeal. Simultaneously, we began development on a desktop version of the app, ensuring that users could seamlessly transition between devices while maintaining access to all their tasks and boards.

Beyond aesthetics, we focused on enhancing the user experience with a wealth of customizable features. From adding subtasks and notes to enabling sharing and "do not disturb" modes, every aspect of the app was meticulously designed to cater to the diverse needs of our users. Swipe gestures made it effortless to rearrange tasks within boards, streamlining the organization process and enhancing productivity.

As development continues on all fronts, from the mobile and desktop apps to the accompanying website, our team remains dedicated to delivering a product that exceeds expectations.
